Extra Curricular

The current economic climate requires that both parents work, so they are left with no choice but to employ a nanny to look after the kids or leave them with relatives. MMI- Sri Lanka relives parents’ anxiety and guilt about their children as they have been given the option of leaving their children in a familiar environment with their fellow mates and under the guidance of teachers. Young children develop aptitudes of calmness, order, concentration, coordination and fine motor skills as they clean tables, pour liquids, sweep and dust. As a result of these they begin to develop independence, self-confidence, and self-respect. Recently MMI- Sri Lanka has introduced its full day program with the commencement of its after school care program from 12.30 noon until 5.30 in the evening. The after school care program involves a routine where the child has lunch, a wash, change of clothing, nap time, assistance with home work, a tiny snack and lastly the daily planned activities. The after school program also commences enrichment classes such as:

  • Sinhala/Tamil/English classes (up to grade 3)
  • Elocution classes- speech and drama
  • Arts and crafts
  • Swimming
  • Dance classes
  • Music- Piano
